13th World University Triathlon Championship

Triathlon finds its roots in Hawaii in 1977 but has gained in popularity, becoming a recognized Olympic Sport in 2000. As a widespread activity in the country, Switzerland organizes renown triathlons and has a few promising athletes on the international scale. The Nyon Triathlon which started in 1989 with 254 participants is now the biggest triathlon in Switzerland with the record of more than 2’200 athletes. In over 25 years, the event has constantly been developing its infrastructures in order to offer optimal conditions to participants, which is also guaranteed by the help of 600 volunteers.

During the 28th edition, the Nyon Triathlon is honored to organize the World University Championship. As the host of international sport federations, such as the UEFA, and ideally located between Lausanne and Geneva, Nyon presents itself as the perfect region to welcome athletes from all over the world. The venue offers top-quality facilities and accommodation will be provided on site.

With the help of partners and volunteers, this 13th World University Triathlon Championship promises to be memorable and spectacular. We are looking forward to welcoming you in Nyon!
